What is Photosynth
Microsoft has now released the first full release of Photosynth, and it is available now at http://photosynth.com. What is Photosynth?
Well it is a whole new photographic experience.
Photosynth
Photosynth takes a whole set of regular photographs, all of which are photographs of the same scene, area or object and reconstructs the scene or object in a 3-D environment.
The secret is to take a whole mass of photos from different angles, perspectives and distances. The software then uses some incredible software to match up corresponding bits of photos and then merges all of these into 3D photo montage which you can navigate around.

If want to see what Photosynth can do, then you can experience synths that have been made in the lab and get a feel for what Photosynth is and how it works. Now, for the first time ever you can use Photosynth to create your own synths from your own pictures and share them with your friends.

As for me, I am off to buy shares in any company making camera memory chips because the world is about to consume them in vast quantities because of Photosynth!
